Happiest in an interview or researching for a book, when someone invites her into their world to
tell their story, Nico sees herself as an interpreter.

Nico spent her formative years in Paris and holds an MA in Literature with Philosophy from Trinity College, Dublin. The daughter of an artist, she is a member of the Critics Circle, with a blog on Artlyst called The Artist’s Statement.

Her work is highly collaborative and focused on developing artists in early to mid career. She regularly writes art features for numerous titles in addition to catalogue and title essays for Ibid Gallery, Art Bastion, Cadogan Contemporary, JGM Art, Phoenix Arts, for a wide range of artists like Hamish Mackie, Suki Jobson, Deborah Tarr, Chris Levine, and Andrea Hamilton. Her most recent books include Joost Vandebrug’s Cince Lei, and Ina Jarvis.

In addition to curating for Art Bastion, she curates annual major group shows in the UK as a platform for the artists she collaborates with: Botanicae, Sense of Place, and the first Blue Edition at AH Studios. As corporate artist liaison she has commissioned, liaised and delivered major public art projects, most recently with Simon Allison of Lockbund Sculpture to deliver eight monumental sculptures on behalf of Merchant Cantos for Merck. Nico is currently working on a series of essays and short film segments that form a wider project titled ‘The Unseen’ which will be revealed in November.

Growing up in different countries, she speaks fluent French, good Spanish and Italian. She has one foot in Europe, the other in America, and a hand outstretched to the southernmost tip of Africa.

Please contact Nico to discuss a collaboration of minds.
